Seller's maximum discount: the per-store concession cap

For the administrator: set in Prices the maximum discount a seller can grant per line, store by store, and what happens above it.

For: Administrator · Supplier

Where to find it

In your account menu, under Prices, Discounts and limits tab, in the Seller's maximum discount section ("How much a seller can grant per line, store by store."). Until 18/10/2026 it was in Commercial Rules. The Maximum additional discount per line, per store list has one row per store, with the Cap per line field in %.

The value is saved when you leave the field. If you administer a single store, only the Maximum additional discount per line field appears, with your store's name.

What the discount cap measures

The cap is how much the seller can grant beyond the automatic rules: the price table and discount rules are already in the price and do not count against it. Up to the cap, the concession is accepted immediately. Above it, it is refused.

There is no discount approval flow: nobody receives a request to release it, and the seller has no way to ask for an exception on the screen or through Dri. To grant more, the administrator has to raise the store's cap.

⚠️ The cap is per STORE, not per person. The value applies to all sellers of that store. There is no different cap for a specific seller, and nobody on the team is exempt: whoever administers also goes through the same cap when giving a discount on a quote.

The three doors the concession cap closes

The same cap applies to any path the seller uses to lower the price:

  1. the line's additional discount: the Item column of the items table;
  2. the fixed price: the final price typed on the line is converted into the discount it represents;
  3. the document's manual discount: the percentage that replaces the automatic rules on the whole document. It also applies when the seller asks Dri for the discount over WhatsApp: above the cap, she refuses.

A base price typed below the catalog also counts: the drop from the catalog to the base combines with that line's Item discount.

Examples of the concession cap in numbers

A 10% cap and a line that, after the rules, costs R$ 100,00:

  • Item discount of 8%: passes;
  • fixed price of R$ 90,00: passes (10%);
  • fixed price of R$ 85,00: refused (15%).

For the document's manual discount, only what exceeds the automatic discount it replaces counts, already combined with what the lines received. With no automatic discount, 20% on the document with 10% already granted on a line gives 28% of total concession: that is the number the cap measures, not the 20%. If the automatic one was 5%, a manual 20% counts as about 15,8% of excess.

A blank discount cap means no limit

Leaving the field empty removes the cap: that store's sellers can then grant without limit. That is why, when you erase the value, the screen asks "Remove the limit for this store? Sellers will grant additional discount with NO cap." If you cancel, the previous value comes back to the field.

The field accepts 0 to 100. A cap of 0 means the seller grants nothing beyond the rules.

What the seller sees when going over the cap

The change is refused with the number that was hit, for example "The 15% discount exceeds this store's 10% concession limit." The line's price stays as it was.

On the paths that apply in bulk (the Use of the document price or of the last paid price), the line that would break the cap is skipped and the others are applied.

When the manual discount is lowered by itself

The document's manual discount is checked against the automatic one at that moment. If the context later changes (an item leaves, the quantity drops, the customer or the payment terms change) and the manual one no longer fits, the system lowers the manual one instead of refusing the change, and warns: "Manual discount adjusted from X% to Y%, which is the store's concession cap." See Como o preço de uma linha da cotação é formado.

Changing the cap does not touch open quotes

The new cap applies to what is granted from now on. Lowering the cap does not revalidate open quotes: a line that was already above stays as it is. What changes is the next concession on that document.

The exception is the document's manual discount: if it does not fit the new cap, it is lowered when the quote is changed again in the editor, saved or confirmed, or when one of its conditions changes through Dri, with the "Manual discount adjusted" warning, as described above. This does not happen if some line alone already reaches the new cap or exceeds it: in that case the manual discount stays as it is, and it is the line that needs to be corrected.

When it goes wrong

The seller says they were blocked and the cap is high. Check the row of the right store (the list is per store) and whether there is already a manual discount on the document: the cap measures the total concession, and the manual one added to the Item one can go over.

I erased the cap by accident. Type the value again and leave the field; the confirmation request exists precisely for this case.

The row shows "could not read". Reading that store failed and the field stays locked so as not to save an empty value by mistake. Reload the page.

The seller needs to give more discount in a specific negotiation. There is no way to release only that quote. The way is to raise the store's Cap per line, have the seller apply the discount and, if you want, lower the cap back. While the cap is higher, it applies to all the store's sellers. The discount already given on the line stays. The document's manual discount above the new cap, however, is lowered at the next change to the quote, including when saving or confirming, unless some line alone already reaches the new cap. If the concession was through the manual discount, lower the cap only after the quote is confirmed.

Common questions

Can the seller ask for approval to go over the cap? No. Vendria refuses the change and the line's price stays as it was. Who can release more is the administrator, by changing that store's Cap per line in Prices, Discounts and limits tab.

Is the Require Order Approval switch for approving discounts? No. It is in Commercial Rules, Orders section, and deals with buyers' orders, not with discounts. See Orders and stock: approval, minimum order, stock and packaging.

Can I have a different cap for each seller? No. The cap belongs to the store and applies equally to all its sellers.

Does the cap count the discount from the automatic rules? No. It measures only what the seller grants beyond the price table and the discount rules.

What happens if I leave the field empty? The store has no limit: its sellers grant any additional discount. To allow no discount at all beyond the rules, use 0.
