A line from another store in a purchase: which store is this item from?
In a purchase with several stores, decide which store each line belongs to, move the item to the right order and understand the labels the screen shows.

Where to find it
In the menu, under Quotes: open the order of a purchase that involves more than one store of your company. Lines whose store is in question show in the item list with one of the labels below in the Product cell, and the line's drawer (the Check before sending badge) has the question and the ways out. On the purchase page (the set of sibling orders) and in a purchase's editing cart, the same lines show with the store indicated.
The labels, and what each one means
- Product from another store: the code exists, but in the catalog of another store of your company, not in this order's.
- Ambiguous product — which store?: the code matches a sister store's product exactly, and here it only exists with a prefix. The candidates are from different stores.
- Purchase issue: said in the drawer of a line that didn't match any product and lives in a sibling order (the Product cell says Code not found or Ambiguous product); in parentheses comes the store's name or store to be confirmed.
- The → Store badge (blue, next to the code): in a purchase's cart, the line has a product and belongs to that store's order. It isn't an issue, it's information: "Line of …'s order in this purchase".
The question "Which store is this line from?"
In a purchase with two stores or more, a line without a product first asks which store it belongs to, and only then unlocks the catalog search and Save for future. It's on purpose: choosing the product decides the store along the way (the line goes to the order of the product's store), and the question exists for you to decide that with your eyes open.
The answers:
- It's from this order: the line stays here.
- It's from <store>: the line goes to that store's order in this purchase. When the store doesn't have an order in the purchase yet, the button says (creates the order): answering brings its order into being.
- It's from another store…: the menu that shows instead of the button when there are two or more sister stores.
- I don't know: that's an answer too. The line stays in the purchase's main order, marked as store to be confirmed, and the search opens across all stores.
The screen confirms with Line confirmed in this order, Line sent to the other store or Line marked as store to be confirmed.
After answering
The line then says what was decided and by whom: "Confirmed as from this order by …", "Marked as store to be confirmed", "Confirmed as from the order of …" or "Came from …". The change link reopens the question; cancel closes without changing anything.
When moving, the line takes along what had already been recorded for it (what the customer ordered and was saved in "Future demand" goes to the destination order).
Why the line landed in this order
When the system puts the line in an order by the beginning of the code, the drawer says: "It came here because XX is a family of this store."; or, on the line that lives in the sibling, "It went there because XX is a family of that store." It's a guess based on the prefix; if it's wrong, answer the question with the right store.
When a store shows disabled
An answer may come grayed out, with the reason written right below:
- This order has already been confirmed.: a confirmed order doesn't take a new line;
- This order isn't in your portfolio.: that store's order belongs to another seller.
In the store menu, the option is marked "(unavailable)". Talk to whoever handles the other order.
When the destination store has an order for another customer
In a purchase where each store invoices an order for a different customer, moving the line also changes whose item it is. The answer carries the customer's name next to the store, and the drawer warns: "…'s order belongs to …: moving the line there moves this item to their account."
⚠️ It's a warning, not a lock: the common case is fixing a line that landed in the wrong order. But check twice: who receives and who pays change with the click.
Ambiguous product: which store?
The candidates show as cards, each with the store's name. When the cards are from different stores, the drawer explains: choosing one puts the line in its store's order, creating that order if the purchase doesn't have one yet. The card that would bring an order into being carries the creates …'s order badge. Click This is it on the right product, or none of these.
A product from another store, out of your reach
When the code belongs to a store you don't have access to, the drawer says "Belongs to store …, no access." and the only way out in the drawer is Discard from order. In the Order review and adjustments panel, the Belong to another store line counts those lines ("outside the portfolio of whoever created it") and offers Discard (N), which asks for confirmation: the lines leave with price and allocation, and don't come back. If the item needs to be sold, talk to your manager about access to that store.
When you can reach the sister store, the drawer just says "This code is from the catalog of store …" and offers the store question and the search normally.
On the purchase page
In the purchase's item list, each line shows the store it belongs to, with a link to its order. A line whose store nobody decided shows to be defined (dashed), and the tooltip explains: "Nobody has decided yet which store this line is from — it is hosted in … by guess. Open the order to decide." The decision is made on the order, not on the purchase page.
On an order's panel, Issues in other orders of this purchase counts what is pending in the siblings, with a link to each one.
Common questions
I chose the product and the line disappeared from this order. The product was from another store, and the line went to its order in the same purchase. Look for it there (or on the purchase page).
I answered wrong. Click change on the line and choose again.
The store question doesn't show. The purchase has only one store, the line already has a product, or the code belongs to a store out of your reach.
