# How do I get back to a quote I already made, in the conversation with Dri?

> To work on a quote that is no longer open in the conversation, tell Dri its day or position, or open it from the link or from the Quotes list.

## The conversation works with one quote at a time

The quote leaves the conversation when you end it, when you tap **Export** or
when the conversation expires with time, but it stays saved in **Quotes**. Nothing is
lost: what changes is that it stops being the open quote, and the items you
send next, without saying which quote, become a new quote.

To work again on a quote you already made, there are two paths: tell Dri which
it is, by day or by position, or open it on screen. Both are below. About
ending and starting over, see [Start over, end and the conversation commands](/en/ajuda/recomecar-encerrar-e-comandos-da-conversa).

To get back to a quote that has already left the conversation, Dri only searches among the ones
in your name as the seller, and that also applies to the company's or the store's
administrator. A quote the administrator builds through Dri for a
customer with a seller in the portfolio goes in that seller's name, and one for a
rep agency customer has no seller; in both cases Dri doesn't find it. Open it in
**Quotes** and use the **Seller** filter, with the portfolio's seller or with
**No seller**.

## Say which it is, by day or by position

Write the word **quote**, **order** or **estimate** along with its day or
position, and say what you want to do in the same message. Dri recognizes:

- the day: **today**, **yesterday** or **the day before yesterday**;
- the position: **the last**, **the second to last**, **the first**, **the second**,
  always right next to the word quote, order or estimate;
- the number together with the day: *"quote 123 from yesterday"*, without the prefix and the
zeros. On its own, the number doesn't take you back.

**The last** and **the second to last** count from the newest. **The first** and
**the second** count from the oldest among the five most recent, and
not from the first quote you ever made. When in doubt, prefer the day.
Use the day or the position, not both in the same sentence: in *"the second quote from
yesterday"*, the position applies, and the day is ignored.

Examples that work:

- *"on yesterday's quote, add 3 more AB10371"*
- *"on today's quote, add 2 more boxes of AB10008"*
- *"on the estimate from the day before yesterday, remove AB11659"*
- *"on yesterday's estimate, swap AB10371 for AB10372"*
- *"open the quote I made yesterday"*
- *"go back to my last order"*

With *"open the quote I made yesterday"* Dri doesn't create a new quote: she only
switches the conversation to the quote you pick, and answers *Ok, working on*,
the quote number and *from now on.* A lookup-only question,
like *"what's in yesterday's quote?"*, doesn't switch the conversation's quote; for
that, ask to open it.

## Dri asks "Which quote do I change?"

Before changing anything, Dri always confirms which one it is, even when only one quote
fits. The question **Which quote do I change?** comes with up to five options, and each
line brings the quote number, the day and time it was created, how many items
it has and the total, when it already has a value.

Answer with the line number (*2*), with the position (*"the second one"*) or with the
quote number (*COT-000123*). Dri applies, on the chosen quote, what
you asked in the first message, without you needing to repeat it, and the answer starts
with *Ok, on* and the quote number. From then on the conversation stays on that
quote: the next *"add 2 more"* goes into it.

The request doesn't always go in on the same tap. If Dri can't apply it, she
switches to the chosen quote and warns: *"I switched to …, but I couldn't
apply what you asked. Can you repeat it?"*. And when the request in the first
message wasn't clear enough for her to make the change on her own, the choice only switches
the conversation's quote, and she answers *"Ok, working on … from now on."*.
In both cases, repeat the request: it goes into the chosen quote.

Some variations:

- **No quote on the day you said.** Dri warns and offers the most
recent ones: *I didn't find a quote from yesterday. These are the most recent ones. Which one do I
change?*. Check the number before picking.
- **The message brings items without saying they are to be added.** If you don't use
*add*, *include*, *put more*, *throw in more*, *send more* or *put … on the quote*,
Dri first asks whether to start
a new quote with these items or post them to one of the existing ones, and lists the
options. The first is **New quote with these items**, in case you
  want a new document.
- **Changed your mind.** Write *"never mind"*, *"forget it"* or *"cancel"*. Dri
answers *Ok, I left it as it was.* and nothing changes. With no answer, the question expires
on its own in 15 minutes.

## Where Dri searches

Dri searches among your 20 most recent quotes where you show as the
seller, in the stores you serve or manage. The rule is the same for the
seller and for the administrator. It doesn't depend on the conversation where the quote
was born: it applies to a quote from a conversation that has already ended.

A quote that isn't in your name as the seller, or that fell behind the
20 most recent, doesn't go into the list. For a seller, that is the case of one the
administrator built without a seller. For an administrator, it is the common case: a
quote they build for a customer with a seller in the portfolio goes in that
seller's name, and one for a rep agency customer has no seller. In those
cases, open it on screen.

## Only a quote in Draft or Waiting can be changed

Dri only changes a quote with status **Draft** or **Waiting**. The question's
list may bring documents in other statuses, including orders already
confirmed (with an ORD-… number). If you pick one of those, the answer is *That
quote is no longer available for editing.*, and nothing changes.

For a seller, tapping **Export** on WhatsApp puts **no** lock on the quote:
it stays in **Draft** and can be changed through the conversation. When whoever
exports is a company or store administrator, Dri confirms the order on the
same tap, and then it locks. The exception is when something is missing to confirm, like
the customer: then the quote stays in **Draft**, can be changed, and Dri says what
is missing. See [Export the quote as Excel or PDF on WhatsApp](/en/ajuda/exportar-cotacao-pelo-whatsapp).

What locks it is confirming the order or sending the proposal to the customer (status
**Awaiting customer approval**). A proposal that is with the customer goes back
to editing on screen, on the first change you make; see [Edit a sent proposal: reopen, revise and resend](/en/ajuda/retomar-uma-proposta-enviada). To redo an order that was already
confirmed, use **Duplicate** on screen. See [Whose turn it is, and when the quote freezes](/en/ajuda/de-quem-e-a-vez-e-quando-a-cotacao-congela) and [Duplicate and revise a quote](/en/ajuda/duplicar-e-revisar-uma-cotacao).

After it is sent to the customer, the quote only changes by going back to editing on screen, whatever
status it is in: **Awaiting customer approval**, which is the
normal one after **Send estimate**, or **Draft** and **Waiting** with the
proposal still in the customer's hands. Through the conversation, Dri doesn't add a new
product, doesn't add quantity to an item already on the proposal and doesn't remove items: the
answer says the quote was sent to the customer, shows the path (open the
quote and change it there) and brings the quote's link, and nothing changes. This also applies to
**Add up** on one of Dri's questions answered after the send. After going back to editing,
send the items again or adjust them on screen.

If the customer already accepted the version they have, it doesn't go back to
editing. In that case Dri points to **Duplicate**, in **Other actions**, which creates a
new quote with the same items and conditions, and you change that one freely.
When the one writing is the buyer, the answer asks them to talk to the seller.

## On screen: the message link or the Quotes list

The summary Dri sends when she creates the quote brings a link (🔗) that opens the
quote on screen. It logs into your account for about half an hour; after that
it still takes you to the quote if that browser is already signed in, or after you
sign in again. See [Não consigo entrar na minha conta](/ajuda/nao-consigo-entrar). Without the message at hand, in the menu, under **Quotes**, use the
search box: it accepts the number with or without the prefix and the zeros
(*COT-000123* or *123*) and the customer's name. See [The seller's quote list: what shows up, the filters and the search](/en/ajuda/a-lista-de-cotacoes).

The administrator sees everything from the company in **Quotes**. To find the quote they
built through Dri, search by the customer's name or by the number, or use the
**Seller** filter with that customer's portfolio seller, or with **No
seller**. See [Cotações na visão do administrador: tudo da empresa e os filtros](/ajuda/cotacoes-na-visao-do-administrador).

## What doesn't work through the conversation yet

While the conversation is open, the quotes built in it can still be
called by number, by order or by customer. See [When Dri asks, and how to answer](/en/ajuda/quando-a-dri-pergunta-e-como-responder). For a quote from a conversation that has already ended, three
ways of asking that seem natural don't take you back to it today:

- **Typing just the quote number** (*"COT-000123"*). On its own, the number doesn't
take you back. Together with the day (*"quote 123 from yesterday"*, without the prefix and
the zeros) or as an answer to Dri's list (*COT-000123*), it picks. Or
  search the number on screen.
- **Asking by the customer's name** (*"Casa Modelo's quote"*). Dri doesn't
search for the quote by customer and may answer *No active quote. Send
a PDF, image or spreadsheet first.*, which doesn't fit this case. Use the
day, or search the customer's name in the **Quotes** list.
- **Sending back the PDF Dri generated.** Dri reads the file as a new
order: its items become another quote, and the original doesn't change. With another
quote open in the conversation, she first asks **Add to quote** or
**New quote**. What you ask along with it (*"remove items AB10008 and
AB10371"*) doesn't reach the original. To adjust the original, say the day (*"on
today's quote, remove AB10008"*) or open it through the link.

## Common questions

**I ended the conversation and want to add an item to today's quote. How
do I do it?** Say which it is and what to add in the same message: *"on
today's quote, add 2 more AB10371"*. Dri asks **Which quote do I change?**, you
answer with the line number, and the item goes in. Or open the quote through the
message link and add it on screen.

**I sent the quote's PDF back and Dri created another one. What now?** The original
stays in **Quotes**, the way it was. The copy can be rejected on
screen, in **Other actions**, **Reject**. See [Cancel an order or reject a quote](/en/ajuda/cancelar-ou-rejeitar-uma-cotacao). Next time, say the quote's day instead of sending the PDF.

**Why did Dri say the quote is no longer available?** Because the
chosen quote is no longer in **Draft** or **Waiting**: it was
confirmed, became an order, went to the customer or was closed. Through the conversation
it can't be changed. On screen, a proposal that is with the customer goes back to
editing on the first change; for the others, use **Duplicate** to create a new one with
the same items.

**Can I write the quote number for Dri to go back to it?** On its own, no.
Together with the day, yes: *"on quote 123 from yesterday, add 2 more AB10371"*, without the
prefix and the zeros. It also works as an answer to Dri's list (*COT-000123*).
Or say the day or the position (*"on yesterday's quote"*, *"on my last order"*),
or search the number in the **Quotes** list.

**Dri's list doesn't show the quote I want. What do I do?** It shows only
your most recent quotes where you show as the seller. If the one you're
looking for is older or in someone else's name, open it on screen, through the
**Quotes** search.

**I'm an administrator and Dri doesn't find the quote I built yesterday. Why?**
The most common reason is that it went in the name of the customer's portfolio seller,
or without a seller, if the customer belongs to a rep agency, and Dri only lists the
quotes in your name as the seller. Open it in **Quotes**, searching by customer
or by number, or with the **Seller** filter, with the portfolio's seller or with
**No seller**.
