## Where to find it

In your account menu, under **Commercial Rules**. The screen introduces itself as
"Order, payment, freight and ERP submission rules for this store" and is a list
of sections you open and close by clicking the title. **Orders** and **ERP
submission** come already open.

Discounts have been on another screen since 18/10/2026: in your account menu, under
**Prices**, **Discounts and limits** tab. There you find **Discount Rules**, **Can the
seller set the price?**, **Seller's maximum discount** and **Document
price**. In **Commercial Rules**, the **Discounts and price** card has the
link to it.

There is no save button: each switch, list or field saves on its own when you
click or leave the field, and the screen confirms with **Saved**.

## What each section of Commercial Rules decides

The sections appear in this order, and each one has its own article with the
details:

- **Orders**: order approval, minimum value per store, saving items for
later and packaging multiples. The stock switches are in **Catalog and
exports**, **Product page** tab, and the section has a notice with the link.
See [Orders and stock: approval, minimum order, stock and packaging](/en/ajuda/pedidos-e-estoque-regras-comerciais).
- **ERP submission**: what prevents an order from being sent to the ERP, with the
switches **Block sending for customers with overdue receivables** and **Require
carrier to send to the ERP**. What the seller sees when the submission is
blocked is in [Confirmar o orçamento: direto ou depois que o cliente aceitou](/ajuda/confirmar-o-orcamento).
- **Payment**: installment rules, default payment terms and method,
and locking these fields for the buyer. See [Payment: installments, default terms and payment method](/en/ajuda/pagamento-parcelamento-e-condicao-padrao).
- **Freight and Delivery**: default freight mode, default delivery time and
locking freight for the buyer. See [Freight and delivery: default freight mode and delivery time](/en/ajuda/frete-e-entrega-padrao).
- **Payment Terms Templates**: ready-made terms ladders, in days or in dates of the year.
It only appears when the store's ERP works with terms ladders. See [Payment terms templates: ready-made terms ladders for the seller](/en/ajuda/modelos-de-prazo).

At the end of the page the **Commercial Policy
Notes** card may also appear, with the notes the last rules import couldn't
turn into configuration.

## What is in Prices, Discounts and limits tab

In your account menu, under **Prices**, **Discounts and limits** tab, in this order:

- **Discount Rules**: the automatic discounts: store, customer,
volume and payment terms. See [Discount rules: store, customer, volume and payment](/en/ajuda/regras-de-desconto).
- **Can the seller set the price?**: whether the seller types a base price, a closed
price, both or neither. See [Can the seller set the price? Base price and fixed price](/en/ajuda/o-vendedor-pode-definir-o-preco).
- **Seller's maximum discount**: each store's concession cap. See [Seller's maximum discount: the per-store concession cap](/en/ajuda/desconto-maximo-do-vendedor).
- **Document price**: what to do with the price the customer wrote next
to the item on the order. See [Document price: the price the customer wrote next to the item](/en/ajuda/preco-do-documento).

The other **Prices** tab, **Price tables**, has the tables, the price
rules and the promotions. See [Price tables](/en/ajuda/tabelas-de-preco).

## Which commercial rules apply per store and which apply to the organization

The two screens mix three scopes, and this is what confuses people the most:

- **Per store, with all stores listed side by side:** the minimum order
value (in **Commercial Rules**, **Orders** section) and, in **Prices**, **Can the
seller set the price?** and **Seller's maximum discount**. Each store in the organization has its own row.
- **For the whole organization:** in **Prices**, the **Discount Rules** list (with the
**Store** column saying which store each rule applies to, or "(all)") and, in
**Document price**, the **Apply automatically** switch and
**How to apply**, which allow a **Per-store exception**.
- **For the store your session is in:** the other **Orders** switches, the
**ERP submission** switches, the **Payment**, **Freight and
Delivery** and **Payment Terms Templates** sections, and what the **Import Rules** button saves.

⚠️ The screen **doesn't show** which store the session is in. In an organization with several
stores, opening a store's page in **Company Settings** switches your
session to that store; so, to change the payment of a specific
store, first open its page and then go back to **Commercial Rules**.

If you administer a single store, the per-store lists show only yours, with the
store's name next to the field.

## Import Rules from the commercial policy

The **Import Rules** button, at the top of the screen, reads your
company's commercial policy and suggests the configuration:

1. Click **Import Rules**.
2. Choose **Image / PDF** and upload the file, or choose **Text**, paste the
   policy and click **Extract Rules**.
3. In **Review Extracted Rules**, each field appears with the current value, an
arrow and the value read. The ones that would change come already checked; uncheck what you
don't want. **overwrites** warns that the field already had a value.
4. Click **Confirm Import**. The summary says how many fields were
updated and how many discount rules were created or removed.

The import reads minimum order, delivery time, packaging multiples,
locks, installment rules and discounts by payment, by volume and the
store's default discount. It fills **no** payment terms, payment method or
default freight: you choose those on the screen.

⚠️ The discount rules created by an import are **replaced** on the
next import. The exception is a rule you edited by hand afterwards: that one is
kept, and the review tells you how many were preserved.

## How discounts combine

Discounts don't add up: each one applies to the price the previous one
left, so they multiply. In calculation order:

- **Discount rules** (store, customer, volume and payment):
they apply on their own, one of each type, and multiply with each other. With 10% from the
store and 10% from the customer, the discount is 19%, not 20%.
- **Manual document discount**: when the seller gives one, it
**replaces** the automatic rules on the whole document, instead of
  joining them.
- **Seller's discount on the line** (**Item** column): applied on top of the
price that already has the discount. With 10% from the rules and 5% from the seller, the line
ends up with a 14,5% discount, not 15%.
- **Fixed price**: the final price typed on the line replaces this whole
chain on that line; only taxes are still calculated on top.
The **base price** is different: it only replaces the starting price, and the
discounts above still apply on top of it.

The **price table** doesn't enter this calculation as a discount: it gives the line's
starting price. See [Price tables](/en/ajuda/tabelas-de-preco) and, for the full calculation, [Como o preço de uma linha da cotação é formado](/ajuda/como-o-preco-de-uma-linha-e-formado).

The **Seller's maximum discount** limits only the concession beyond the automatic
rules: the **Item** column discount, the fixed price, a base price
typed below the catalog and the part of the manual discount that exceeds the
automatic one. Above it the change is refused, with a message like "The 15% discount exceeds this store's concession limit
of 10%." There is no discount approval request: to grant more, the
administrator raises the store's cap. See [Seller's maximum discount: the per-store concession cap](/en/ajuda/desconto-maximo-do-vendedor).

## ⚠️ Changing commercial rules doesn't rewrite documents right away

What you change here applies to what happens **from now on**. A
new discount rule enters a quote in **Draft** or **Waiting**
when it is recalculated; a proposal sent to the customer and a confirmed order stay
as they are. Prices typed on the line stay as they are (including those from a
permission you just turned off), and lowering the discount cap doesn't
revalidate open quotes: only a manual document discount that doesn't fit the
new cap may be lowered, on the quote's next change. The payment and freight
defaults only fill new documents (or fields that are still empty).

## Common questions about Commercial Rules

**Do discounts add up?** No, they multiply: each discount applies
to the price the previous one left. 10% from the store with 10% from the customer gives 19%, and
10% from the rules with 5% from the seller on the line gives 14,5%.

**Above the cap, can the seller ask for approval?** No. The change is
refused, and only the administrator, by raising the store's cap in **Seller's maximum
discount** (in **Prices**, **Discounts and limits** tab), allows more discount.

**Can I have a different discount cap for each seller?** No: the cap is
per store and applies to all its sellers.

**Why can't I find the Payment Terms Templates section?** It only appears when the store's
ERP records payment terms in installments. In a store without this integration there would be nowhere
to apply the template. If your store has this integration and the section doesn't appear,
contact support.

**Why did I change the payment and the other store stayed the same?** Payment, freight,
ERP submission and the stock switches (in **Catalog and exports**,
**Product page** tab) apply to the session's store. Open the
other store's page in **Company Settings** and come back.

**What does "could not be read" mean on a row of the per-store list?** Reading
that store failed, and the field stays locked so it doesn't save an empty value
by mistake. Reload the page.

**Why did I change a rule and the open quote didn't change?** Rules don't
rewrite quotes right away. In **Draft** or **Waiting**, the new discount
enters when the quote is recalculated; a sent proposal and a confirmed order don't
change.
