# Send the negotiated price to Dri in the message

> For sellers: how to write the price agreed with the customer next to the item on WhatsApp, what Dri answers and why the price sometimes doesn't go in.

## What it is for

You agreed on a price with the customer and want the quote to come out with it already. Instead
of building the quote and then fixing it line by line on screen, write the
price next to the item in the same message where you ask Dri for the quote.

## How to write it

The price goes on the same line as the code and the quantity. Dri understands the two
most common orders:

```
order for 11.222.333/0001-81
2 AB10008 12,50
AB10009 10 cx R$ 8,90
```

- **What makes a number a price** is the comma for cents or the "R$":
  *12,50*, *R$ 12* and *12 reais* are prices. On a line with a single number,
  without cents and without "R$", it is read as a quantity. When the line already has
  the quantity and another number is left over, that other one is the price: in *2 AB10008 12*,
  2 is the quantity and 12 is the price. When in doubt, write the cents.
- **Write the unit price**, the same one that shows in the quote's price column,
  not the line total.
- **A line without a price** follows the price the quote calculates. You can mix
  items with and without a price in the same message.

## What Dri answers

Along with the quote, the answer says what happened to the prices you
wrote:

- **🏷️ Message price applied on 3 lines**: the price went in and the quote
  already has it.
- **⚠️ Message price NOT applied on 2 lines:** followed by the reason. Those
  lines keep the price the quote calculated.

If the answer doesn't mention the price, it was only noted: it shows on the line, on
the quote screen, and you apply it with one click (see below). The most common reason
is that your company leaves the message price for you to apply; the others are
right below.

## Why the price didn't go in

The reason Dri writes after **NOT applied** is one of these:

- **Above the store's discount limit.** The written price would give a bigger
  discount than the store allows the seller. The line stays at the table price;
  talk to whoever manages the store if the price was authorized.
- **I didn't find these products in the catalog.** Without the right product there is no
  table price to compare against. Fix the item on the quote and apply the price
  on screen.
- **Check on screen.** The skipped lines are split between the two reasons
  above. Open the quote and go line by line.

When you add items with a price to a quote that already exists, one more
reason shows up. With it the price doesn't go in on its own on any line, and stays
noted for you to apply with **Use** on screen:

- **The quote is open for editing on screen.** The price isn't written
  underneath whoever is editing.

A quote already sent to the customer doesn't take items through the conversation, with or
without a price, nor through **Add up** on one of Dri's questions: Dri answers with the
path (open the quote and change it there, and it goes back to editing) and the quote's
link, and nothing changes. If the customer
already accepted that version, the path is **Duplicate**, which creates a new quote
with the same items.

On an order split among several stores, the notice comes in each store's block,
with that store's reason.

The answer doesn't warn when the line already had a price typed by hand: what you
typed on screen is never replaced by the message price.

Whoever manages the store decides whether the price goes in on its own and how; see [Preço do documento: o preço que o cliente escreveu ao lado do item](/ajuda/preco-do-documento).

## Check and adjust on screen

On the quote screen, a line with a noted price that isn't in use yet shows
**Negotiated:** and the amount, with the **Use** button. One click applies the price. A
line that got the price shows the **✓ Negotiated** badge, with the
**undo** option, which goes back to the table price.

**Base price or fixed price.** Each company picks what the written number
means:

- **Base price**: the number is the base, and the order's discounts still apply on
  top. An item written at R$ 10,00 on an order with a 10% discount comes out at R$ 9,00.
- **Fixed price**: the number is the final price, with or without a discount on the order.

If the price you agreed on is already the final one and the line came out cheaper than
it, the company is using **Base price**. When the little arrow next to
**Use** shows up, pick **Negotiated as final price** on that line.

## Common questions

**I wrote the price and the quote came out with the table price, with no warning. Why?**
Almost always because your company leaves the message price only noted; the
other cases are in "Why the price didn't go in". Open the quote and use the
**Use** button on the line.

**The customer sent the photo of the order with the prices. Does the same apply?**
It applies to the price the customer wrote on an order you forward. When
it is the buyer themselves who places the order, the price they wrote never goes in
on its own: it is treated as a discount request, not as a closed deal.

**Can I change the price after the quote was created?**
Yes, on the quote screen, while it is a draft. See [The quote line: quantity, price and discount](/en/ajuda/a-linha-da-cotacao-quantidade-preco-e-desconto).
