# Default order and new-arrivals window of the WhatsApp list

> For the administrator: set the order in which Dri builds the WhatsApp product list and for how many days a product counts as new.

## Where to find it

In your account menu, under **Catalog and exports**, on the **Lists** tab. The two
settings live in different places:

- the **default order** sits inside the list's Default template: in the
**Templates** list, open the **Excel** or **PDF** row (with the **Base** badge) and scroll down to the
**Order** card. It's the same order in both formats, so it doesn't matter which
  one you open;
- the **New arrivals window** sits in the **General settings** block, at the end of the tab. The
block starts closed: open it to see the card.

Both answer the same question (*what does Dri do when the seller doesn't
give details?*) and apply to every store in the organization.

## Default order of the WhatsApp list: what it's for

When the seller asks Dri for a list without saying the order (*"send me the list for
line X"*), she builds the list in the **default order**. With nothing configured, the order
is the one of the **Default: Description (A→Z)** option.

The order belongs to the template: a template in use with its own order (in the **Selection and
order** block of the template editor) builds the list in its own order. The order in the
**Order** card, in the Default template, applies when no template is in use, or when the template
doesn't define one.

An explicit request always wins: *"the 20 best sellers"* or *"from cheapest to
most expensive"* ignore the default order. The setting is only what happens when
nothing is said.

## How to change the default order of the list

1. On the **Lists** tab, open the **Excel** or **PDF** Default template and scroll down to the
**Order** card. Under **Order when the template does not set one**, open the
   first selector.
2. Choose the field: under **Product fields** (**Description**, **Price**,
**Stock (pieces)** or **Stock (boxes)**) or under **Catalog attributes**,
where only numeric attributes appear, such as dimensions or weight.
3. In the second selector, choose the direction. It's worded in the field's terms:
**Most expensive first** or **Cheapest first** for price, **Most stock
first** or **Least stock first** for stock, **A to Z** or **Z to
A** for description, and **Largest to smallest** or **Smallest to largest** for an
   attribute.
4. Click **Save default sort**, on the card itself. It saves only the order;
the template's columns save on their own.

To go back to the default, choose **Default: Description (A→Z)** and save.

## The default order doesn't apply to the website

The default order applies to the **WhatsApp** list. The **Export** button on the
products screen exports in the order the products are in **on screen**.

⚠️ The WhatsApp list arrives with a link to open the same selection in the catalog.
If the default order is by a field the products screen doesn't sort by (an
attribute, for example), the card warns you: the link opens **without this sort order**,
but the PDF and Excel file comes out sorted normally.

## New-arrivals window: what counts as "new"

The **New arrivals window** says for how many days a product remains a
**new arrival** after it enters the catalog. With no setting, it's **15 days**.

It's used in two places:

- when the seller asks Dri for *"the new-arrivals list"*, without saying the period;
- in the **New arrivals** filter on the products screen, which when turned on shows **Only
what came in over the last N days**, with the window's number.

A period said in the conversation (*"new arrivals from the last 20 days"*) always wins over the
configured number.

## How to change the new-arrivals window

1. In the **New arrivals window** card, type the number in **Days counted as
new**. It accepts 1 to 365 days.
2. Click **Save window**.

To go back to the 15-day default, **delete the number**, leave the field empty and
save. An empty field doesn't mean off: it means the default applies. The
number currently in effect shows in gray inside the field, and the sentence below it
says where it comes from.

## Rep agencies can have their own window

A rep agency can set its own new-arrivals window on its own
**Catalog and exports** screen. Until it does, it follows the
organization's number, and tracks it when you change it. See [Catálogo e exportações: como sai o arquivo da sua representação](/ajuda/modelos-de-lista-da-representacao).

## When it goes wrong

- **"Couldn't read the current setting"** or **"I couldn't read the
new-arrivals window for this organization"**: the read failed; click
**Try again**. The card won't let you save without reading first, so it doesn't erase
  what is configured.
- **"This store doesn't have a field to sort the list by yet"**: the catalog has
no sortable field beyond the default; the list comes out by **Description (A→Z)**.
- **The seller asked for 20 days and got another number**: check the sentence in the conversation:
a stated period wins over the window; with no period, the window applies.
- **I changed the order and the seller's list didn't change**: they asked for an order in the
sentence, and it wins over the default order; or the template in use has its own order, and it
  wins over the Default template's.
