# Build a quote on screen: from the catalog to Save Quote

> Build a quote on Vendria's screen: search the catalog, add the products, choose the customer in the cart and click Save Quote.

## Where to find it

In the menu, under **Quotes**, click **New Quote**. The button takes you straight to the
**Catalog**, which is where products enter the quote. You can also
start from the **Catalog** menu. The result is the same: the first product
you add opens a new cart.

## Step by step: build a new quote on screen

1. In **Quotes**, click **New Quote** (or open the **Catalog** from the menu).
2. Look for the product in the **Search by SKU or description...** field: the code is the
   shortest path when you already have the customer's list.
3. Adjust the quantity and click the cart button on the product's line. Repeat
   for each product.
4. Click **Cart** at the top of the screen (on a phone, on the dark strip above the
   tabs, under **View**). The screen that opens is called **New Quote**.
5. In the **Customer** card, choose the company under **Company**; if you want, enter the
   contact and the customer's purchase order number.
6. Check the lines, quantities and prices in the table.
7. Open **Payment Terms**, **Freight and Delivery** and **Notes** and
   fill in what is needed.
8. Click **Save Quote**. The quote gets a number and the screen opens its
   page.

## How to add a product from the Catalog

In the Catalog list, each product has a button with the cart icon (on a
computer it shows **Add**). On a computer there are also the **−** and **+** buttons
and the quantity box next to them; on a phone, a tap adds it straight away and
you fix the quantity later, inside the cart.

When the product is sold in boxes with several units and your store works
in packaging steps, **−** and **+** move one box at a time. If the product's
price is already per box, the quantity counts boxes.

After you add it, the product gets a badge with the quantity already in the
cart, and the screen confirms with the message **added to the order**.

## Product with variants (color, size, prepack)

If the product has variants, the add button opens the **Choose
variant** window. There you choose the variants and the quantity of each; when you
confirm, the lines go into the cart. A kit (closed prepack) goes in whole,
without that choice.

## Add from the product page

Clicking a product's name in the Catalog opens its page. There you set the
**Quantity** with **−** and **+** (with more than one unit, the page shows the
**Subtotal** and the **Total**) and click **Add to Quote**. If the product has variants, the button is called
**Choose variant**.

When the quantity you typed does not fill the packaging, the page warns
**Not a multiple of** followed by the packaging size. Check before
adding.

## Add with a negotiated price

When your store lets the seller set the price, the Catalog list
shows a pencil next to the product's price (**Set the price for this line**).
It opens the **Negotiated price** window, where you type the agreed value; the
button changes to **Add at R$** followed by the value, and the product goes into the
cart already at that price. On the product page, the same **Negotiated
price** field sits next to the add button.

⚠️ Closing the negotiated price window without adding discards the value you typed.
The next time you add that product it goes back to the price table price.

If the pencil does not appear, your store does not allow prices typed by the seller:
the administrator of your company decides that. To understand how the line
price is calculated, see [How the price of a quote line is built](/en/ajuda/como-o-preco-de-uma-linha-e-formado).

## Add a product that is already on the quote

Vendria does not create a second line for the same product: it **adds up the quantity**
on the line that already exists. The message on screen says **was already on the quote —
quantity added up**. If you added it with a negotiated price, the message also says
that the **price** was updated.

## Add a product from another store

If the cart already has products from one store and you add one from another, the screen
asks first. Depending on the case, the window is called **Product from another store**
(the cart will be split into one order per store), **Add product from another
store?** (you are editing a quote and the product becomes a separate order
inside the same purchase) or **Change the cart's store?** (the current cart is
cleared). **Cancel** changes nothing. To understand the split by store, see
[When one order becomes several: the multi-store purchase from the company's side](/en/ajuda/compra-multi-loja-do-lado-do-vendedor).

## The New Quote screen, from top to bottom

The cart screen shows, from top to bottom, among other blocks:

- the **New Quote** header, with **Back**, **Import**, **Clear** and, on a
  computer, the **Actions** menu;
- the order's store;
- the **Customer** card, with **Company**, **Contact (optional)** and the
  **Add purchase order number** option;
- in stores whose ERP classifies the order by type, the **Order in the ERP** card;
- **General discounts** and the table of lines;
- **Payment Terms**, **Freight and Delivery** and **Notes** (collapsed;
  click the title to open);
- at the end, the total and the **Save Quote** button.

If the customer is not registered yet, the Customer card offers **Register
customer**. Payment terms, freight and delivery are explained in
[Commercial terms on the quote: payment, freight and delivery](/en/ajuda/condicoes-comerciais-na-cotacao).

## The Order in the ERP card: the order type

In stores whose ERP classifies the order by type, the editor shows the
**Order in the ERP** card with the **Order type** field: the tax regime under which the
order enters the ERP. The options are your store's list of types in the ERP,
each with a code and a description (such as "1 — VENDA"). A mistake here is a tax
error, so it is worth checking before closing.

- **ERP default** is not a type: it means leaving it unselected. The field is not sent,
  and the ERP applies the connection's default type. When Vendria knows what that
  default is, the option already says so, for example, "ERP default · 1 — VENDA".
- With the customer chosen, the type they usually use appears, read from their last
  sales order in the ERP (**in the ERP: …**, with the order number). If it is not
  what is in the field, **back to the one used in the last order** applies it; if it already is, it shows **in
  use** and **use the ERP default** undoes it.
- If the customer wrote the regime on the order ("venda ZFM", for example), Dri already
  fills in the type, and the field shows that the value came from the document. Check it.
- **This list may be incomplete** appears when the list of types could not
  be read in full; check in the ERP before choosing.
- **Code N (not in the records)** is a type saved on the quote that is no longer
  in the list that was read; swap it for one from the list or go back to the default.

The type applies to the whole purchase: in a purchase with orders from more than one store,
it is saved on all of them.

## Add more items without leaving the cart

Below the table there is the **Add Item** button. It opens a **Search** field
inside the screen itself: choose the product and it goes into the quote right away. The
field stays open for the next one, the count shows how many items you
added, and products already on the quote appear marked with
**already in the quote**. Click **done** to close the field, or **view
full catalog** to go back to the Catalog.

## What Save Quote does

**Save Quote** turns the cart into a document: the quote becomes a
document with a number, leaves the cart and goes to **Quotes** as a draft,
and you can reopen it and send it later. The message on screen shows the number
(**Quote COT-… saved**) and Vendria opens the quote page.

If the cart had products from more than one store, saving creates **one
quote per store**, the message says how many were created and the screen opens the page
of the purchase that groups them all.

⚠️ An empty cart does not save: the screen replies **Add at least one
product**.

## Where the save button is

Saving appears in two places on the same screen, and both do the same
thing:

- on a computer, in the header's **Actions** menu, under **Save quote**, so
  you do not have to scroll the whole page;
- in the footer, the **Save Quote** button, next to the total. On a phone it sits
  in the fixed bar at the bottom of the screen.

## After saving, the quote saves itself

From the moment the quote has a number, **there is no save
button anymore**:
every change you make on its page is saved right away. If you
open the cart with an already saved quote being edited, the header says **Edit
Quote** with the number, and instead of saving there is **Go to the quote**
("the changes are already saved").

Confirming the quote and sending the proposal to the customer happen on the quote
page, not in the cart. See [Send the proposal to the customer and record the acceptance](/en/ajuda/enviar-a-proposta-e-registrar-o-aceite). How to edit a quote that already exists is in [Open cart and editing an existing quote](/en/ajuda/carrinho-aberto-e-modo-de-edicao).

## Common questions

**I couldn't find the Create Order button in the cart.** The cart only builds and saves the
quote. The order is closed on the quote page, after it has a number.

**I saved and the quote is not in the list.** Check the filters on the
Quotes list. A quote marked as a test does not appear by default: the cart
warns about this with the test badge in the header, before saving.

**I added on my phone and the quantity came out wrong.** On a phone the Catalog
adds the default quantity; fix it in the cart table.

**The product went in with the quantity added up instead of a new line.** That is the
expected behavior: the same product always adds to the line that already exists.
