# Catalog import history

> For the administrator: the catalog import history, what each column counts, how to download the original spreadsheet and where to see the errors.

## Where to find it

In your account menu, under **Catalog and exports**, **Import** tab → button
**Import History**, at the top of the tab. The screen opens with the title
**Import History**; the **Back to import** button takes you back.

## What the import history shows

One row per import, from the most recent to the oldest, with the total at the
top ("N imports found") and 25 per page. The columns:

- **Date**: when the import was confirmed;
- **Type**: **Products** for the full catalog import; the
  **Update existing catalog** one appears with its own badge, and customer and seller
  imports also show up on the list, with their badges;
- **File**: the name of the uploaded file;
- **Added**: products created;
- **Updated**: products that already existed and were updated;
- **Ignored** and **Errors**: rows that didn't go in (no code and no
  description, for example). When there's an error, the number appears in red;
- the download icon, **Download original spreadsheet**, when the file is still
  stored.

⚠️ The history doesn't show how many products were **removed** (deactivated) by
a full import. That number appears only at the time, in the import
result. To see which ones left, use the product list with the
**Status** filter set to **Inactive only**.

## Download the original spreadsheet

The download icon returns exactly the file that was uploaded. It's useful to
check what went in, to redo an import or as a way back after
a catalog swap.

Vendria keeps the file of the **three most recent full imports** of
each store. On older ones, and on **Update existing catalog** ones, the icon
doesn't appear: the history row remains, but the file is no longer
available. If you need a file for longer, download and keep a
copy right after importing.

These same stored files are the ones that appear under **Source file** when
you reapply the extra attributes. See [Extra catalog attributes: reapply without reimporting](/en/ajuda/atributos-extras-do-catalogo).

## Where to see an import's errors

The history shows only the error count. The list with the reason for each row
is on the **Import** tab of **Catalog and exports**, in the **Last
import with N warnings** strip, which applies
to the store's most recent import (full or update). It separates
**Validation errors** and **Duplicate SKUs**.

The most common errors and what to do:

| warning | what to do |
|---|---|
| "Row N: SKU and description missing" | the row is empty in both columns; fill it in or delete it |
| "SKU 'X' duplicated (keeping previous row)" | the code appears twice in the same sheet; keep only one row |
| "New SKU 'X' without description — skipping" | a new product in an update needs a description |
| "Sheet 'X': SKU or Description is required — skipping." | the sheet has no code or description column mapped |

## Which store the history shows

⚠️ The import history shows the imports of **your session's store**, and
not necessarily of the store chosen in the hub selector. In an organization with
several stores, check the file name and the date before concluding that an
import "doesn't appear".

## Common questions

**"Does the history show who did the import?"** No. The screen shows date, type,
file and counts.

**"Why do Skipped and Errors always have the same number?"** In catalog
imports, each row with an error is also a skipped row: both columns
count the same thing.

**"I imported yesterday and I don't see the download."** If it was an **Update existing
catalog**, the file isn't stored. If it was a full import, three
newer full imports have already been done in the store.
