# A quote for a slice of the catalog through Dri

> Ask Dri for a quote with every product in a slice of the catalog, by brand, price, stock or new arrivals, with the same quantity of each item.

## What it is

It is asking Dri, on WhatsApp, for a **quote with every product in a slice of the
catalog**, without typing code after code. You describe the set and how much
you want of each item, and it builds the order:

- *"build a quote with all the Casa Modelo items under R$ 2 a piece,
  2 boxes of each"*
- *"build an order with everything that has more than 1000 pieces in stock"*
- *"make an estimate with the new arrivals from the last 30 days, 1 box of each"*

The result is a real quote, just like any other built by Dri: it
shows up in **Quotes** and follows the usual path until it becomes an order.

Start the sentence with the verb and the document (*"build a quote"*, *"make an
estimate"*, *"place an order"*), without a product code, and describe the set
with *"all the items"*, a price range, the stock or the new arrivals. With these
three parts Dri goes straight to the slice quote, without asking whether it should
search for the products or build the quote.

## "List" or "suggestion" makes a file, "quote" makes an order

The word you use decides what comes out of the same slice sentence:

- **list, catalog, table, spreadsheet, PDF or suggestion**: Dri generates a
  **file** in Excel or PDF for the customer to look at and choose from. Nothing becomes an order.
  See [Generate a product list on WhatsApp](/en/ajuda/gerar-lista-de-produtos-pelo-whatsapp).
- **quote, estimate or order**: Dri builds a **quote** with all the
  products of the slice inside, in the quantity you asked for.

⚠️ **"Suggestion" is a list**, even with *"one box of each"* in the sentence: *"build a
suggestion from Casa Modelo with items from 3 to 11 reais, one box of each"* comes out as a
file. For it to come out as a quote, swap it for estimate, quote or order. If the sentence
has both words, the order wins: *"build an order suggestion with items
up to 10 reais"* is already a quote.

If you want the customer to choose, ask for a list. If you already know they are taking the
whole set, ask for a quote.

⚠️ When you **name the items** (*"10 AB10371 and 5 AB10008"*), it is not a slice:
it is a regular quote by text. See [Build a quote by text on WhatsApp](/en/ajuda/montar-cotacao-por-texto-no-whatsapp).

## The filters the slice quote understands

They are the same cuts as the product list, with the same words:

- by the product's **name** (*"all the cups"*);
- by **brand** or another catalog attribute (*"from the kitchen line"*);
- by **price range**, per piece or per box (*"under R$ 2 a piece"*,
  *"from 3 to 11 reais"*);
- by **stock**: only what is available, pre-sale, or a minimum quantity (*"more than
  1000 pieces"*);
- by **store** (*"from Casa Modelo"*);
- by **updates** (*"what came in over the last 30 days"*);
- with **order and limit** (*"the 100 cheapest"*, *"with 200 items"*).

In a two-sided price range, write **reais** or **R$** with it
(*"from 3 to 11 reais"*, *"from R$ 3 to R$ 11"*). Without it, *"from 3 to 11"* may not be
read as a price, and Dri may ask whether to search or to build.

For the full list of cuts and how to combine them, see [Generate a product list on WhatsApp](/en/ajuda/gerar-lista-de-produtos-pelo-whatsapp).

## Leave a theme out of the slice: "without the Christmas items"

Say in the same message the theme that should not go in, and Dri removes those products
before building. Out go the products whose name, line, group or collection in the catalog
mention the theme.

The forms it always understands have **items from**, **products from** or **the ones from**
before the theme:

- *"don't put in Christmas items"*, *"I don't want Christmas items"*;
- *"without the Christmas items"*, *"without the bag products"*;
- *"except the Christmas ones"*, *"don't include Christmas-themed items"*;
- two themes at once: *"without the Christmas and Easter items"*.

Written another way, such as *"minus bags"* or *"without the bags"*, the theme may
not be understood. Write *"without the bag items"*.

The quote reply has a line starting with **↳** that says what was removed, for
example *"Without the Christmas items: I removed 57 items (…)"*, with how many went out through the
catalog line and how many through the name. If no product in the slice mentions the theme,
the line says it found none and that nothing was removed.

⚠️ Stock, photo and pre-sale are not themes: they have their own filter (*"only what is in
stock"*). *"Without the items without stock"* removes nothing by theme.

## How much of each item goes into the quote

Say the quantity **per item** and the unit:

- *"2 boxes of each"*: each product goes in with 2 boxes. Dri converts boxes into
  pieces using each product's packaging record, so products with boxes of
  different sizes go in correctly;
- *"10 pieces of each"*: each product goes in with 10 pieces;
- saying nothing: each product goes in with **1 piece**, unless your
  preference or your company's default is boxes (see below).

Without saying the unit, the one you told Dri you usually use applies (*"I always order
in boxes"*); if you did not say any, your company's default; with neither of
the two, pieces. The reply says where the unit came from, in a line such as **📦 No
unit in the message → box, as you prefer** or **(your
organization's default)**. When the assumed unit is box, a product without the box
quantity registered goes in as pieces, and the same line says how many were left that way. See
[Build a quote by text on WhatsApp](/en/ajuda/montar-cotacao-por-texto-no-whatsapp).

The quantity is the same for every product in the slice. To change the quantity of an
item later, adjust the quote like any other: through the conversation (*"change
AB10371 to 5 boxes"*) or on the quote screen.

## The customer and the price of a quote built from a slice

The slice quote **does not read the customer** written in the same sentence as the slice, and
it may come out without one. Say the customer in a separate message, with a verb:
before the request (*"the customer is 11.222.333/0001-81"*) or right after the
quote comes out (*"change the customer to 11.222.333/0001-81"*). See [Choose the conversation's customer on WhatsApp](/en/ajuda/escolher-o-cliente-na-conversa).

The price of each line is the quote's, calculated as always: the price table and
the negotiated discount of the conversation's customer. Once the customer is chosen with the quote already
open, it becomes theirs and the discount is recalculated.

⚠️ A discount said in the slice sentence (*"with a 10% discount"*) has **no** effect on
this quote: unlike the list, here the price is an order price, with your store's
discount locks. Build the quote and then ask Dri for the discount. See
[Change the order's terms on WhatsApp](/en/ajuda/mudar-as-condicoes-do-pedido-pelo-whatsapp).

## What Dri replies

With the quote created, the message starts by saying where the items came from, for
example, *"🧾 I built the quote with the 42 products from your filter (…), 2 boxes of
each."*, and continues with the usual quote: the items, the total and the buttons. Right
below come, when there are any, the **↳** line for the removed theme and the **📦** line for the
unit.

Check the number of products: if you expected 40 and 4 came, the slice was
narrower than you wanted. Ask again with the filter adjusted.

If there is already a quote open in the conversation, Dri first asks whether the items go
into it or into a new quote.

## A quote belongs to a single store

If you serve more than one store and the slice picked up products from several, Dri does not
mix them: it says how many products came from each store and asks you to redo the
request **naming the store right at the start**: *"build a quote with the
Casa Modelo items…"*. To quote two stores, make one quote at a time.

## When the slice goes over 300 products

Reply with just the adjustment, without repeating the request: Dri keeps the rest. The slice
quote goes **up to 300 products**, and above that it does not build. It says how many the
filter picked up (*"That filter (…) picked up 2368 products, and I build quotes with up to
300 items."*) and shows the ways to narrow it:

- a shorter price range: *"from 3 to 7 reais"*;
- a single store: *"only Casa Modelo"*;
- *"only what is in stock"*;
- an item limit: just the number will do, *"200"*, up to 300.

The earlier filter, the quantity of each item and the unit you said in the
first message still apply to the adjustment. The invitation stands for 15
minutes; after that, send the whole request again.

If the adjustment still goes over 300, it says the new number (*"I narrowed it (…), and there are still
812 products."*) and asks for one more cut. If you send a number above 300,
it replies that it goes over the ceiling and asks again.

A reply that tightens nothing does not widen the slice: with *"up to R$ 5"* in effect,
replying *"up to 150 reais"* keeps the R$ 5, and Dri warns that the slice still
applies and asks for a tighter one.

Replying *"at most 200"* is ambiguous, and Dri asks whether it is 200 items or
R$ 200: *"Which of the two did you mean? Reply "items" or "reais"."*. To
avoid the question, say the unit: *"200 items"* or *"up to 200 reais"*.

The limit can also come in the first sentence already: *"the 100 cheapest"*, *"with
200 items"*. A quote larger than 300 would be impossible to check before
sending it to the customer.

## Remove a theme from a quote already built

With the quote open in the conversation, ask *"remove the Christmas items"* and Dri removes
all the lines of that theme at once, without you sending the codes. The reply
says how many went out and how many stayed: *"I removed 57 Christmas items (…). The quote
now has 243 items."*

- **A large removal asks first.** If the theme takes more than half the lines, or
  10 lines or more, Dri asks first, with the math: *"Removing the Christmas items
  deletes 57 of the 300 lines on this quote, leaving 243 items. Removal cannot be
  undone. Confirm?"*. Reply **yes** (or **go ahead and remove**) to remove, or
  **no** to leave it as it is.
- **If all the lines are from the theme**, it removes nothing and tells you to cancel through the
  quote link: *"If you want to discard the quote, open its link and cancel
  it there."*
- **Removal cannot be undone.** The *"undo"* only removes the last batch of items
  you **added**; it does not bring back what went out.
- **"Remove everything except the Christmas ones" is not handled**: Dri touches nothing.
  To keep only one theme, ask for a new quote with just that theme (*"build a quote
  with the items from the Christmas line…"*).
- Write the request directly, with the theme right after **items from**: *"remove the
  Christmas items"*. A sentence with more in between (*"I need you to remove from this
  estimate the Christmas-themed items"*) may not be understood, and Dri asks for the
  codes.

## Common questions

**I asked for a "suggestion" and got a file. Why?** A suggestion is a list for the customer
to choose from. Ask again with **estimate**, **quote** or **order** instead.

**Dri generated a file instead of a quote. What do I do?** The sentence said
list, catalog, table, spreadsheet, PDF or suggestion. Ask again with the word
**quote** or **order**.

**Dri asked whether to search or to build. What do I reply?** Reply
**2** or **Build the quote**. If it replies that it did not recognize a request,
send the request again starting with *"build a quote"*, with *"all the
items"* and with **reais** in the price range: that way it builds from the filter without
asking.

**I wrote the customer in the sentence and the quote came out without them. Why?** The slice
quote does not read the customer from the sentence. Send in a separate message *"change the
customer to"* followed by the name, the CNPJ or the code, and the open quote becomes
theirs.

**Dri said "That filter picked up products from more than one store". What do I do?**
Redo the request naming the store at the start of the sentence.

**Dri said the filter went over 300 items. Do I need to rewrite everything?** No.
Reply with just the adjustment: *"from 3 to 7 reais"*, *"only what is in stock"* or the number
of items, such as *"200"*.

**The Christmas items went in anyway. Why?** Check the **↳** line in the
reply: if it does not show, the theme was not understood. Write *"without the
Christmas items"*, and, if the quote is already built, ask *"remove the Christmas items"*.

**The filter found nothing. What now?** Dri says the slice came out empty and
shows the filters available in that store. Adjust using what it listed.

**The quantities came in pieces and I wanted boxes. How do I fix it?** Say the
unit in the sentence: *"2 boxes of each"*. So you don't have to repeat it, tell Dri
in a message on its own *"I always order in boxes"*.

**Where do I see later what was requested?** The quote stays in **Quotes**, and the
whole conversation is recorded in **Actions**.
