## Where to find it

In the menu, under **Catalog**. The search bar sits at the top of the product list and
stays visible while you scroll the page, on your phone too.

## How to search for a product by code or description

Type in the **Search by SKU or description...** field. You don't need to press anything: the
list updates by itself right after you stop typing. If you want to search
right away, press Enter or tap the magnifying glass on the left of the field.

What works in the catalog search:

- **the full product code**: the safest path when you have the list
  of what you need;
- **the beginning of a code**: typing the first letters or numbers brings the
  product family that starts that way;
- **a word from the description**: the search tolerates small typos in the
  description;
- **the full barcode** of the product, when the supplier has that
  code registered.

The number next to the **Catalog** title says how many products the search and the
filters left in the list.

## "Keep typing": why the search didn't start

The catalog search only starts with **at least 2 characters**. With a single letter,
the screen shows **Keep typing** and doesn't search anything yet: that doesn't
mean the product doesn't exist. Type one more character and the list appears.

## When the search doesn't find the product

- **No products found** with the sentence *Nothing matches "…"*: the search ran and
  no product in the catalog matches what you typed. Try the code
  instead of the name, or a single word.
- *Nothing matches "…" with the filters applied*: besides the text, there are filters on
  that may be hiding the product. Tap **Clear filters** and search
  again. The typed text stays in the field.
- **Full search unavailable**: the catalog search answered in a
  simplified way, without typo tolerance. Search by the code or by
  an exact word; there may be products that didn't show up.
- **Search unavailable** or **Catalog unavailable**: it wasn't possible to
  query the catalog at that moment. It doesn't mean the product doesn't exist:
  tap **Try again** in a few moments.

## Choose the supplier the catalog shows

If you buy from more than one supplier on Vendria, the
**Supplier** selector appears at the top of the screen, with the **All Suppliers** option. Choosing a
supplier shows only their products.

The supplier doesn't count as a filter: **Clear filters** doesn't touch it. To see
all of them again, choose **All Suppliers** in the selector itself. On your phone, the
same selector is also inside the **Filters** window.

## How to filter the catalog

On a computer, click **Filter**. On your phone, tap the filters icon next
to the search: the **Filters** window opens, and the **See N products** button at its
bottom already shows how many products are left before you close it.

The filters the catalog offers the buyer:

- **Image**: **With image** or **No image**;
- **Price range**: a minimum and/or maximum amount, in reais;
- **Stock**: appears when the supplier's catalog can answer
  about stock. The options are buttons side by side, such as **All** and **In
  stock**; choose one at a time;
- **product characteristics**: brand, line, color or whatever that
  supplier's catalog has registered, with the number of products next to each
  value. Checking two values of the same characteristic brings both (for example,
  two brands). When the list of values is long, the window shows only the
  first ones and says *use the search for the others*.

Each filter applies the moment you choose it: there is no apply button.

## The filter tags and the Clear button

Each filter that is on becomes a **tag** right above the product list, with an
**X** to remove just that filter. **Clear all**, at the end of the row of
tags, turns them all off at once.

The filters button gets a number when filters are on. On your phone that
number is the reminder that stays visible while you scroll: if the list looks
too short, check whether it's there.

**Clear filters** removes the filters, but doesn't erase what is written in the search and
doesn't change the chosen supplier.

## Sort the product list

The **Sort by** selector, next to the filters button, orders the list by
**Code**, **Name (A–Z)**, **Name (Z–A)**, **Lowest price** or **Highest price**.
When the catalog has stock information, orders by
quantity also appear.

⚠️ Sorting by price uses the catalog's list price. If you have a discount, the
price shown on each product is already yours, so the sequence may not
look perfectly ascending.

## View the catalog as a grid or a list

- **Grid**: cards with a large photo. It's how the catalog opens, and it's the best
  way to recognize the product by its image.
- **List**: one row per product, more compact, good for going through many
  codes.

On a computer, the two buttons sit next to **Sort by** (**Grid view**
and **List view**). On your phone, they are inside the **Filters** window. The
choice is saved on this device for your next visits.

At the bottom of the list, **Items per page** sets how many products appear at
once, and the arrows turn the page.

## Scan the barcode with your phone's camera

With the product in hand, you can point the camera instead of typing the code.

1. On a phone or tablet, tap the barcode icon **inside** the search
   field, on the right (**Scan barcode**).
2. The first time, the screen shows **Getting the barcode scanner ready…**:
   this happens only the first time on this device.
3. If the browser asks, allow camera access.
4. Point the camera at the barcode, inside the frame. In a dark place,
   use the flashlight button, when the device has one.
5. Vendria looks for the code in the catalog (**Searching the catalog…**).

What happens after the scan:

- **one product has this code**: the product page opens directly;
- **several products have this code**: the catalog opens filtered by it, or the
  window lists the products so you can tap the one in your hand;
- **no product has this code**: the window says it didn't find it. Search
  by the product code or by the description.

The camera didn't read a blurry label? Tap **Type the code**, write the
numbers and tap **Search**. **Back to the camera** resumes scanning without closing the
window.

## Why the scan button doesn't appear

The reader only exists where there is a **touch screen and a camera**: phone and tablet. On a
computer the button doesn't appear; there, type the barcode directly into the search
field, which also finds the product.

## When the camera doesn't work

- **The camera is blocked for this site**: the permission was denied. The
  window itself explains where to allow it: on iPhone, through the **aA** in the address bar; on
  Android, through the padlock next to the address. Then tap **Try again**.
- **I couldn't find a camera on this device**: use **Type the code**.
- **The camera only works on a secure connection (https)**: open Vendria through the
  address that starts with https.
- **I couldn't load the barcode reader**: the reader didn't manage to
  open. Check your internet connection and tap **Try again**; meanwhile,
  **Type the code** keeps working.

## Common questions

**The list is empty with the message "No products in this selection".** The filters
that are on didn't leave any product. Tap **Clear filters**.

**A product I always buy disappeared from the search.** Check the supplier
chosen at the top and the filter tags above the list. If nothing is
on, search by the full code.

**After finding it, how do I place the order?** Add the product to the order with the
card's button or open its page. See [Place an order from the catalog](/en/ajuda/fazer-um-pedido-pelo-catalogo) and
[The product page](/en/ajuda/a-pagina-do-produto).
